My Story

My story...

Born and raised in Orange County I went through the Orange County public school system. While running our family dairy farm I received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Mary Washington College. I have been married for 27 years with 3 kids that also went through the Orange County Public school system.

Starting a family dairy farm 45 years ago I have transitioned from a 250 conventional dairy herd to a 650 grazing, organic dairy herd. Being one of the most difficult farming industries to stay viable. It has taken intuitive foresight of the industry demands to transition to a robotic dairy.

We were able to work with many people and with many professional disciplines.

This ability is an asset that I feel allows me the opportunity to continue to represent District 3 as your Supervisor on the Board for Orange County.

Keith and his family have demonstrated the ability to pivot and change their business model to adjust to the changes in the dairy industry and thrive in Orange County. The Marshalls have accepted these industry changes and identified the clear vision to use the tools available to them to be successful. Some of these innovations have been installing robotic milking machines, building facilities to provide more comfortable housing for their animals and utilizing the services of custom harvesters.
